體驗亮點

  • ✨ Why start with painting bamboo? Bamboo painting brushwork is closer to calligraphy strokes, making it a suitable subject for beginners. The workshop will introduce and let everyone first practise the core brush techniques: using the returning stroke of clerical script to express the rounded strength and flowing energy of bamboo branches; using pauses and centred-tip strokes to render bamboo leaves with crisp, sharp bone-strength; and applying the principle of side-tip texture strokes to wash and push out the mossy, moist texture of rocks on the porcelain body. Blending the spirit of clerical script, centred-tip brushwork, and texture strokes into a single scene of bamboo grove and rocks, you will personally condense the beauty of calligraphy and painting into your own cup.

關於此體驗

The “Hong Kong Porcelain Painting: A Hundred Flowers” exhibition not only focuses on traditional motifs, but also looks to Hong Kong’s local plants, showcasing the local beauty of “old motifs, new creations.” Bamboo is a common plant in Hong Kong and has also become an extended source of inspiration for this exhibition.

This study workshop will share with participants the creation of a “Crimson and Ink Bamboo-Pattern Cup,” taking you from a single bamboo stalk and rock to experience the wonders of Chinese painting and calligraphy brushwork in Canton porcelain.
