Anglo Chinese Florist Debuts HK’s First "MBTI x Blind Box" Pop-Up Flower Bar This July

These days, everyone asks, “Are you an I or an E?” Personality typing has become not only a social icebreaker but also a shortcut for self‑discovery and gift‑giving. To celebrate its 80th anniversary, Anglo Chinese Florist presents Hong Kong’s first “MBTI Fate Floral” pop‑up Flower Stem Bar this July, transforming 16 personality codes into personalised bouquets.

Inside the Flower Bar, instead of a conventional sea of blooms, you will find a curated “Personality Floral Spectrum”. This guide matches each of the 16 personality types with recommended colours, lines, and flower preferences – for instance, logic‑driven NT types are paired with structured foliage and cool‑toned greens, while emotionally expressive SF types suit soft, fluffy shapes and warm hues. Customers can follow the spectrum, hand‑pick flowers and fillers from the bar, then trim and tie them on the spot to create a “destined bouquet” for themselves or a friend.

Third‑generation owner Ada Yeung shared that the team drew on rough floral psychology classifications and years of customer purchase data, finding that certain personality traits do correlate with specific flower choices (e.g., those who favour intricate, layered bouquets often lean towards cautious personality types). Though not scientifically rigorous, this connection adds a layer of self‑exploration to flower selection, breaking the one‑way model of “buying flowers just to give them away”.

The activity also encourages groups to come together – each picks flowers according to their own type, then compares and interprets one another’s choices, sparking light‑hearted conversations. For those unsure about giving flowers, the “personality guide” removes the guesswork, making selection more meaningful.

The Flower Bar will open at G/F, 27 Wellington Street, from 17–20 July and 23–26 July, noon to 6 PM. A limited number of appointments are available, and walk‑ins are welcome. Whether you are planning a surprise for a friend or simply strolling into this floral oasis, you will find your own rhythm – and perhaps see a different side of yourself and others amid the fragrance of flowers.

To cater to diverse preferences, the event also features stress‑relieving activities such as Sound Bowl sessions, pet‑friendly flower classes, crystal mini garden workshops, and DIY cake‑flower decorating experiences (see table below). In addition, to cater to customers' diverse preferences, the event will also feature stress-relieving activities such as Sound Bowl sessions, pet-friendly flower arrangement classes, crystal mini garden workshops, and DIY cake & flower decorating experiences, adding a healing dimension to the floral journey.
